No Banjo, No Accordion, Sorry Folks > But Lots Of Love
I checked with the musicians and while they love you all very much, they 'aint playing in the snow this weekend on the balcony. Can you believe winter is finally here though? Let's hear it for winter...on Valentines Day. It will allow for lots of snuggling and cozy fires in the fireplace and maybe even invoking a little more Hygee than normal. Maybe up the Hygee game and add a little Fika break? Any Scandinavians out there?
It's a double double weekend with Valentines Day and a Mardi Gras Party as well. Let's unpack Valentine's Day first...that's what they say in fancy meetings "let's unpack this a little, shall we?"

And now for Mardi Gras! We are taking pre orders for the grande finale of our King Cakes as we approach Fat Tuesday. We are sponsoring KGNU's Mardi Gras Party that will be hosted online. Mixmaster and Musician Trace Bundy has crafted another round of ridiculously tasty cocktails for this special event that will be available all weekend as well as on Fat Tuesday.
Each mason jar makes two cocktails, and includes 2 feathered Mardi Gras masks to mark the occasion!
THE SAZERAC:
This wonderfully fragrant cocktail is the quintessential New Orleans drink. While it’s origins date back to the mid-1800s, it has recently been crowned the official cocktail of New Orleans.
FEATURES: Old Standard Rye (Fort Collins), Peychaud’s Bitters, raw sugar syrup, lemon oil, Absinthe rinse
Serve chilled and straight up. Chill 2 glasses in advance, pour, and Twist the lemon peel to express some lemon oil on top. ENJOY!
THE LAST WORD:
This distinctive cocktail predates the prohibition era, and has withstood the tests of time, due to it’s unique flavor palate.
FEATURES: Leopold’s Gin (Denver), Génépy le Chamois, Lazzaroni Maraschino Liqueur, fresh lime juice, bourboned cherry.
Serve chilled and straight up. Chill 2 glasses in advance, pour, and ENJOY!
Let's hear Uncle Lionel sing out with the Treme Brass Band. Not the best video, but a fairly accurate take on what NOLA feels like when all these heroes get up on stage and let it rip.
