eTown Community Cafe 8/31

I hope everyone is settling back into the rhythm of having kids back in school and changing routines as summer starts to cool off and wind down. We hosted an amazing fundraiser last night for The Sloyd Experience with Allison and Luke. Even with fairly persistent rain falling for much of the evening we had a packed patio. It was a great testament to the community support for Sloyd's mission that so many kids showed up in the rain and stuck it out in their raincoats and umbrellas "To strengthen children’s character through woodworking, where our sole aim is to foster self-reliance, nurture concentration, coach perseverance, encourage neatness, and instill an appreciation for labor – all of which will prepare them for their future." We saw a lot of strength in character last night and so many local parents supporting Sloyd. You can learn more about Sloyd on their website. https://www.sloydexperience.org

Ciabatta Rolls have made a return, and we are selling them daily as 4 packs. Available at all locations.

If you are looking for some music in Lyons tonight, come out and see the beautiful Alexa Wildish from 7-9 pm at the Moxie Mercantile. No cover!

We are excited for another eTown Community Café concert on Wednesday August 31'st complete with an amazing spread of food to compliment the wonderful music of Heavy Diamond Ring. This concert is hosted downstairs in the cafe at eTown hall. This month, we are thrilled to welcome the talented band Heavy Diamond Ring to eTown. Sixteen years after founding indie-folk giants Paper Bird, Sarah Anderson and Paul DeHaven embark on their latest collaboration, Heavy Diamond Ring. HDR harnesses their proven, signature partnership of open-hearted All-American folk-rock towards refreshing new territories. Led by Anderson’s smooth-as-honey vocals and DeHaven’s rugged guitar chops, the band has been described as “open-road, long drive music”, possessing “a little bit of twang, and a whole lot of beef”, and their live show as “infectious and contagious”.

We will be serving some INCREDIBLE MEDITERRANEAN FOOD from chefs Rainbow Shultz (the Jamestown Merc), Jennifer Messinger (Luckys Bakehouse and Creamery), Daniel Asher (Ash’Kara & River and Woods), and Andy Clark (Moxie Bread Co).
Featuring…
Wood-fired heirloom pita bread
