Slöyd Experience Pizza Party
Come join us this Friday for a special community celebration of the Slöyd Experience during our Friday Night Pizza Night. Luke and Allison Johanson have been pouring themselves into creating this amazing project with the mission to strengthen children's character through woodworking.
Woodworking for kids... Experiential, hands on education... Slöyd Experience is an educational non-profit organization that uses woodworking with hand tools to help foster self-reliance, concentration, perseverance, neatness, and an appreciation for labor. Students in Slöyd Experience programming aren't trained to be carpenters; rather they happen to use woodworking as an alternative means of education (which just so happens to be a lot of fun!).
In 2019 the program started with a handful of students at Louisville Community Park and has since grown to full-time programming serving over 200 students. Beginning in the fall of 2022, Slöyd Experience is expanding its impact and will officially be recognized as a "Community Partner" of the Boulder Valley School District! In this new role, our programming will be directly incorporated into the 2nd grade classroom at Louisville Elementary School.
You can learn more about our organization, mission, and programming on our website. Help us realize our mission by joining us for pizza, sharing our program information, and by making donations that directly fund Slöyd Experience programming! Thanks to a very generous community member, all donations through August 15th will be matched...up to $20,000!
There will be one seating from 5 pm- 7pm with pizza and salad and a cash bar. GF and vegan options available.
