Today is a Beautiful Day.
Today is a beautiful day. Every day is a beautiful day. It is Spring. The birds have been singing more each day.
"She keeps it simple
And I am thankful for her kind of lovin'
'Cause it's simple
No longer do we wonder if we're together
We're way past that
And I've already asked her
She's talkin' to me with her voice
Down so low I barely hear her
But I know what she's sayin'
I understand because my heart and hers are the same
And I was sick with heartache
And she was sick like Audrey Hepburn when I met her
But we would both surrender
True love is not the kind of thing you should turn down
Don't ever turn it down
I hope that I don't sound to insane when I say
There is darkness all around us
I don't feel weak but I do need sometimes for her to protect me
And reconnect me to the beauty that I'm missin'
No longer does it matter what circumstances we were born in
She knows which birds are singin'
And the names of the trees where they're performin' in the mornin"
-Avett Brothers
A year ago we watched a tear in the fabric of our community in Boulder at King Soopers. Ice cream scoopers at Sweet Cow hid in the bathroom while shots rang out. People we know and love lost their lives that day just picking up some food at the grocery store. Some narrowly avoided death when a split minute decision made them go to Safeway for their milk and bananas instead of King Soopers. Life is heavy, life can be sad. We can honor those lost by living strong and brightly each day. Do something for them, go for that hike that they might have wanting to go on up to the flatirons.
Love, Love and more Love is All We Need.
Be Kind, Be Supportive
Grow Through What You Go Through.
Rinse & Repeat
Today let's hear a poem.
