When you think about Valentines Day, when your stroll through the chocolaty dreams and wine soaked siestas of this lovely day of affection, is there banjo music playing in that soundtrack, or is it the instrument of love, the accordion? I'm just curious.

Chef Julien has poured his French heart out for us making a bespoke heart shaped cake loaded with frangipane, Valrhona dark chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. Available Saturday and Sunday only.

We will also have some truffles available care of Johnny Sugar. These will be offered in a variety pack including white chocolate elderberry and caramel dark chocolate.

How about some Port and Sherry? Perhaps some Paonia wine from our friends at Aquila? Sparkling wine? We've got that too.

If the weather permits we'll have music on the balcony again this weekend, featuring all of Saint Valentines instruments of love including fiddle, banjo and accordion. If it's too cold, you'll just have to imagine it was there....

And lastly we are going to have a beautiful array of flowers and succulents available at both locations. These will be in our online store shortly.

Did anyone catch Grain School last Saturday? Rowen White was incredible and her conversation with Liz Carlisle was very inspiring. There are 2 more Grain School forums in both March and April. I'll send out a reminder when they come around. In the meantime, the Colorado Grain Chain is partnering with Boulder Valley School District to promote awareness of our local grain economy, whole grain literacy, sourdough baking, organic farming and a whole lot more. Chef Stephen is an incredible ally in this local food movement, and what he and his team do for Boulder county is simply amazing. On February 19 your kids in every Boulder Valley school will be enjoying a Strawberry Crisp made with whole grain that Moxie grew with Black Cat Farm in Boulder. Can you believe that? It's like it was 100 years ago. Our children will be eating wheat that was grown in a field that they drive by in their school bus!

Joan, Tyler, Stephen and I met yesterday at the beautiful BVSD Culinary Center to scheme our local grain takeover! Stay tuned for more action on that front.... we've got some breaducation and graniac dreams...

Here's a little shot of the Boss for this misty cool morning. How about that Jeep ad during the Super Bowl? Way to go Jeep!
