Happy Kings Day!
Y'all bought us clear out of King Cake's yesterday, so our Frenchman and his krewe have been working like crazy (zut alors) to get them back in stock. We have more today available at both locations and will continue to bake them clear through Mardi Gras.
The crown cutters had to work double time at the Clark Casa to catch up on the crown order to boot.
Yesterday we used some beautiful big purple runner beans as our "fève" from Rich Pecoraro's Masa Seed Foundation. Today we are using some heirloom fava beans from Rich. Watching these guys work their plot near on 75th and Arapahoe this past year has been awe inspiring. They planted hundreds of varieties of seed for saving as well as lots for eating. Moxie was the recipient of tons of fresh produce all year. Rich also trialed more than 20 wheat varieties this year as well. Frosts, snow dumps, high winds be damned- they managed to have an amazing year none the less. This coming year will be a big one for them. Stay tuned for more info on their community garden project that YOU are invited to participate in. Check out their work at https://www.masaseedfoundation.org
