Climate Chaos

I hope that everyone is safe and has somewhere to stay during this second fire of the year. Too close and too soon to say the least. Climate chaos. My guitars are still lined up in a row in my office next to a photo of my mother from the Marshal Fire from when I dug them out of nooks and crannies during the evacuation in December. They are sitting next to Will and Laura's paintings from their house that is still evacuated that we are keeping safe. My room smells like smoke from the fine ash left on their paintings. Too soon. If anyone needs any food while they are displaced just come on down, and we'll feed you. World Central Kitchen reached out last night from their post in Poland on the Ukrainian border checking on our ability locally to mobilize a response team if need be for this NCAR fire. Too soon.

Is this Koyaanisqatsi? Life out of balance? In the Hopi language, the word Koyaanisqatsi means 'crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living', and the film implies that modern humanity is living in such a way.

If you've never watched the film Koyaanisqatsi, I highly recommend it. You may have to find it on VHS, or stitch together shorts from YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jM2WA2WbDc

We will try to the life back in balance today with some music in Louisville. Sometimes I feel like we are a Music Co with a bakery attached to the side. Is that really so bad? The amazing Zivanai Masango will be performing South African Pop, Folk and Traditional music today from 10 AM- 1 PM. It's going to be a bright sunny beauty of a day, come out and play.

Charlie Rose is helping to set up our horse trailer Leg 'O Coffee wagon in Lyons, and we are getting close. Batteries are installed and next step will be attaching solar panels. The horse trailer will be a mobile solar powered coffee roaster with an espresso bar and cold brew on tap. You will be able to find this little fella at a music festival near you this spring. Tessa did an amazing job creating our new Lullabies & Libation artwork inside.

Today is the last day of our Colorado Grain Chain Bakesale for Fire Relief for the Marshal Fire (ironically I reckon). If you need free flour for your baking efforts stop by any Moxie location. For more info on our bake sale please go to our website: coloradograinchain.com. Thank you for participating, the support is amazing and I've been so happy watch the donations pour in. All proceeds go to Conscience Alliance based in Broomfield for their outstanding work supporting those in need during this and many other moments of crisis.

I was thinking of this song last week and found out that my son Sam had been humming it to himself as well.
