Music + Danishes
I want to appreciate our amazing crew at Moxie Louisville for navigating a challenged power outage yesterday. We apologize for our closure, but are back at it today in full force. We are taking a week off from our pizza night this week but we'll return to our usual antics next Friday.
I got to catch a glimpse of Joni Mitchell performing at Newport Folk Fest online this week with videos that folks have posted. Brandi Carlile supported Joni along with a slew of other amazing musicians. It is simply amazing to see her strength and endurance as she's continued to create deep and meaningful music (and art) for so many decades spanning generations.
I always thought that Joni's songs were so interesting in that many are such meandering melodies that never seem to circle back to home plate but just sort of flow like a river. Maybe it is all of the jazz influence that she brings to her music.
RockyGrass starts Friday at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons. We're loading up the shop with all sorts of goodies including Charlie Rose's fresh roasted Beanjo Coffee! We also have stocked up on musical necessitates like capos, picks, guitar straps and strings. So, if you are reading this from the campground and busted a string, we got you covered. And....we are very excited to announce that we are now serving beer and wine in Lyons, including bottles and cans to go.
We also have a delicious new peach danish drop today! Fresh peach and cream cheese.
Here's Joni and friends performing live from Newport
