On Saturday April 3, 2021 the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) with its co-host, the Colorado Grain Chain, invite you for a free public forum dedicated to the connections grain makes in the community, for the economy, and in celebration of culture and food sovereignty! Grains are the foundation of many foods, menus and products we enjoy each day, but where and how they are grown and their cultural origins often are not part of the discussion. This forum highlights community connection, cultural identity, and equity through a grain lens with an opportunity for dialogue. The beauty and process of teff-based injera will inspire us to embrace the diversity of grain beyond wheats and crusty loaves. But inspiration without connection to the right farmers, equipment, or seeds can easily fade. Through storytelling and experience sharing we come together to help each other maintain momentum to co-create solutions as we witness the resurgence of regenerative practices in wheat farming and processing, growing interests in ancient and heritage grains, and the relationships formed in the Colorado Grain Chain.
We end with a special announcement as we dive into the next phase of building a sustainable, regional grain economy. Join us for a meaningful and robust forum, highlighting multicultural voices and entrepreneurs from around the nation who echo the ethos of “Community Not Commodity” and inspire us all to incorporate diverse, whole grains and honoring the cultural heritage associated with each special seed in our homes, bakeries, and kitchens.
This is a free event, but you must register first HERE

Today we celebrate a little Tegan and Sara with their smash hit. I think we can even hear a little Andy Samberg in there shouting along to the song. Bonus point if you can tell me who Andy is married to without googling it...
