...Just Ramblin'
Hello beautiful Saturday morning, it's wonderful to see your sunny smiling face. Front Range winters have always been the best kept secret with so many warm and sunny days...but this is crazy. Will and Laura will be playing music later on today on the balcony from about 10:30- 12:30. I heard a rumor that Will was going to slip a little Dark Star into some old timey river boat song today.....
We are super excited to underwrite our very favorite independent, local community radio station KGNU again in 2021. It seems to me that honest reporting in the media may be one of the best ways out of this pickle we are in. KGNU exemplifies good reporting and programming with CPR, BBC, Radio Nibbles and Uncle Jeff's Route 66 West. I remember listening to Allen Watts on KGNU at some pre sun up hour at Daily Bread in the 90's. Pretty sure I'd get so lost and inspired trying to understand Allen that I forgot bread in the oven.
KGNU is hosting their annual Mardi Gras party on February 13th, but this year it will be taken online with live musical performances, shenanigans and a costume party. Stay tuned for more details. We'll be supporting the party with lots of King Cakes and booze! No one said you couldn't throw a raging party for yourself at home and we will "hold that space" for you as they say.
We have subscribed to The Jamestown Mercantile's home meal delivery program for the winter. Last night we enjoyed an outstanding Lasagna complete with Balsamic Brussels Sprouts, Lemon Broccolini, Arugula Salad, Seeded Baguette, Tiramisu and a carefully paired Red Wine. But wait, there was more....every week they feature a live zoom concert from that little legendary stage, and last night they featured Lauren and Peter of The Railsplitters also know as By The Lee (for all you sailors out there). Holy cannellini were they good, and holy cannoli was it great to feel the joy of live music again. I don't know if Rainbow is making these zoom concerts public...but I think we should petition her to do so...
In other news, I've found the sea fort of my dreams off the coast of Wales. I'm going to buy it for us. I might need a little help with some light remodeling, but shouldn't be that tough. We can put a few space heaters in there and start building out our little commune in the sea. Let me know if you want to help patch up the stone work or hold a ladder and be a part of this little dream. When they say 360 degree ocean views, they aren't kidding. *Will need a Welsh translator too....

Here's my favorite tuber song out there these days. Sweet Potato by the one and only ShinyRibs.
